I Made It! (Caution; Dark Humor Ahead)

I have always thought that one needs to maintain a sense of humor when life throws you a curve-ball (sorry for the baseball reference; I've been watching the World Series). That said; today I was reminded of a milestone date I referenced on my 53rd birthday last year - at that time I jokingly commented that I'd celebrate on October 31, 2010, since on that date I will have lived one day longer than my Mother did. Little did I know that some dramatic life-changing news would be delivered to me less than six-months after my smart-ass comment on my birthday last year. Well, the date arrives in four hours; barring getting hit by a bus, or experiencing some other life-threatening event; I appear to have made it to the milestone! Party on! Next stop February 22, 2022; the date on which I will have lived to be one day older than my Father! Granted, given my current health situation; reaching that date is a bit of a long-shot, but you've gotta have a goal!
